Malaysia Committed to Successful 47th ASEAN Summit, Says PM Anwar

Kuala lumpur: Malaysia is committed to ensuring that the 47th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits, held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) from today until October 28, proceed smoothly and yield meaningful outcomes. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim emphasized the importance of the summit in fostering unity, driving regional growth, and reaffirming ASEAN's role as a center of stability and prosperity.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar expressed his hopes for the summit's success in a Facebook post, asking for the prayers of all Malaysians for smooth proceedings, "Insya-Allah (God willing)." The Prime Minister attended a preparatory meeting last night as part of the final arrangements for the summit, which is being held under Malaysia's leadership.

The 47th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits, taking place under Malaysia's ASEAN Chairmanship 2025, are themed 'Inclusivity and Sustainability.' This event is poised to be one of the largest gatherings in ASEAN's history. Notably, this year marks the fifth occasion that Malaysia has held the ASEAN chairmanship since the organization was founded in 1967. Malaysia previously chaired ASEAN in 2015, 2005, 1997, and 1977.
