Malaysia Day 2025 Celebrations Promote Family Engagement Through Exhibitions and Activities

Butterworth: Malaysians from all walks of life spent quality time with their families and friends in conjunction with the Malaysia Day 2025 celebration held at the PICCA Convention Centre Arena Butterworth today, which featured interactive activities and historical exhibitions.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Mohd Shukri Dan, 44, from Sungai Petani, mentioned that the public holiday provided an opportunity for him to take his wife and two children to the exhibition. He expressed that unlike their usual holiday outings to eateries or shopping malls, this time he wanted to engage in something different and beneficial by visiting the exhibition.

Ainna Fatihah Ismail, 41, from Butterworth, highlighted the uniqueness of Malaysia-themed exhibitions, including food demonstrations, as the main attraction for her. She noted her appreciation for cultural exhibitions that showcase the country's diversity and found the food demonstration featuring tapioca, known as wartime food during the Japanese era, particularly fascinating.

Self-employed Lim Wei Ling, 54, from Bukit Mertajam, attended to see the collection of historical artefacts on display, including old newspapers and historic maps brought specially by the Penang Public Library Corporation. Lim expressed her love for historical items and was eager to see the newspapers and old maps in person.

Miftahul Amran Zainal Abidin, 36, from Balik Pulau, participated in the family colouring competition held at the exhibition hall. He shared that engaging in activities like colouring with his children is a fun way to strengthen family bonds, especially since colouring is a favourite activity of his child.

The highlight of the Malaysia Day celebration, themed 'Malaysia MADANI: Rakyat Disantuni,' is set to take place tonight. The event is scheduled to be graced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Penang Governor Tun Ramli Ngah Talib, Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas (representing Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg), and Sabah Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Shahelmey Yahya (representing Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor).
