Malaysia Day 2025 Preparations Near Completion in Butterworth

Butterworth: Preparations for the Malaysia Day 2025 celebration, scheduled to take place at the PICCA Arena Butterworth Convention Centre tomorrow, have reached nearly 95 per cent completion, stated Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil. The event is set to proceed smoothly, with only minor adjustments needed.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the chairman of the National Day and Malaysia Day 2025 (HKHM 2025) Main Committee, Datuk Fahmi Fadzil, mentioned that several matters had been communicated to his team for review and improvement during the full rehearsal last night. He noted that while certain arrangements inside the hall might require refinement, the content, programme, and invitations posed no issues, and all preparations were proceeding as planned.

The minister shared these insights after inspecting a public higher education institution (IPTA) project at Politeknik Seberang Perai. Also in attendance were Communications Ministry Secretary-General Datuk Seri Mohamad Fauzi Md Isa and Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) Managing Director Abdul Karim Fakir Ali.

The Malaysia Day 2025 celebration, themed 'Malaysia MADANI: Rakyat Disantuni,' will commence at 9 am and feature a range of programmes. Notable attendees in the evening will include Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Penang Yang Dipertua Negeri Tun Ramli Ngah Talib, Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, and Sabah Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Shahelmey Yahya.

The event will also showcase performances by renowned Malaysian artistes such as Rock Queen Ella, Suki Low, and Roshini Balachandran, alongside Sabah and Sarawak talents Dabra Sia and Rezza Shah. This year's celebration is being held in Penang, aligning with the tradition of rotating the venue among Sabah, Sarawak, and Peninsular Malaysia annually.
