Malaysia Hosts Pioneering Medical Tourism Familiarisation Trip for Central Asian Healthcare Experts

Kuala lumpur: Malaysia is currently hosting its inaugural Medical Tourism Familiarisation Trip for senior healthcare professionals from Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. This initiative, organised by the Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council (MHTC) and Tourism Malaysia (TM), seeks to enhance professional collaboration and expand referral opportunities between the two regions.

According to Nam News Network, the programme, running from August 3 to 10, 2026, features 16 distinguished healthcare professionals, including practicing physicians, professors, and senior medical specialists from the participating Central Asian countries. The participants are engaged in an immersive study visit aimed at providing them with first-hand insights into Malaysia's internationally acclaimed healthcare ecosystem and integrated approach to healthcare travel.

The trip underscores the growing demand for Malaysia's healthcare services in Central Asia and aims to foster knowledge exchange and establish long-term partnerships between medical institutions in Malaysia and their counterparts in Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. This initiative reflects Malaysia's commitment to promoting its healthcare services on a global scale and strengthening its position as a leader in medical tourism.
