Kuala lumpur: Malaysia's impressive third-place finish at the WorldSkills Asia (WSA) Taipei 2025 underscores the nation's strong capabilities in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET). Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi highlighted that this achievement demonstrates the ability of Malaysian youth to compete at an international level.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Malaysian contingent achieved remarkable success by securing a total of 17 medals, including five gold, five silver, four bronze, and three Medallions for Excellence. This accomplishment was made possible by 25 national TVET participants, who competed from November 27 to 30, bolstering Malaysia's standing in skills development.

Dr Ahmad Zahid, who also serves as the Chairman of the National TVET Council, emphasized that this victory opens new opportunities for Malaysia in skills development. He noted that it showcases the potential of TVET as a key sector for future growth.

The WSA Taipei 2025 event featured over 500 participants from more than 35 Asian countries and regions, marking it as one of the largest skills competitions in the region. The success of the Malaysian team further solidifies the country's reputation in the field of technical and vocational skills.
