Malaysia: Malaysia will host the World Pharmacy Congress organised by the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) next year, said Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad. He announced that the event, scheduled to take place in the capital, was confirmed by FIP president Paul Sinclair during a courtesy call at the Ministry of Health (MOH) headquarters in Putrajaya today. FIP Chief Operating Officer (COO) Carola Van Der Hoeff was also present at the meeting.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Paul Sinclair highlighted that Malaysia's selection as the host of this event is a recognition of the country's expertise and capabilities in healthcare both regionally and internationally. Dzulkefly stated in a Facebook post that the meeting provided a platform to exchange views and explore broader strategic collaboration in various healthcare areas.

Among the key topics discussed were the strengthening of regulation and surveillance of antimicrobial resistance (AMR), enhancing primary healthcare, improving patient safety, and advancing pharmacy service innovations with the help of FIP's global expertise. Dzulkefly emphasized that through this collaboration, Malaysia is committed to sharing its local expertise and bolstering regulatory practices to align with international standards, ultimately benefiting the country's healthcare ecosystem and pharmacy services.
