Malaysia: Malaysia's rich multicultural heritage will take centre stage at the 'Malaysia Wedding Exhibition', featuring the diverse marriage traditions of six ethnic groups - Malay, Chinese, Indian, Iban, Kadazan Dusun, and Siamese - from September 12 to 16.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the exhibition, to be held at Titiwangsa Lake Gardens from 9 am to 10 pm daily, is part of the Malaysia Cultural Festival organised by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC). National Unity Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang stated that the event highlights how Malaysia's wedding customs, passed down through generations, reflect the values and identity of its people.
He emphasized the importance of understanding, respecting, and accepting differences as the foundation for harmony, which he described as Malaysia's true strength. "This is the spirit of Malaysia MADANI that we must continue to nurture," he said in a statement.
Visitors will have the opportunity to witness the splendour of traditional wedding ceremonies, intricate bridal attire, and symbolic wedding gifts unique to each community. Aaron expressed hope that the exhibition would not only provide an immersive cultural experience but also deepen the sense of unity and strengthen bonds among Malaysians of diverse backgrounds in building a harmonious nation.
