Malaysia Wins Bid To Host SIGGRAPH Asia 2026 – Deputy Digital Minister

Kuala lumpur: Malaysia has won the bid to host the Special Interest Group on Computer Graphics and Interactive Techniques (SIGGRAPH) Asia 2026, one of the world's largest and most prestigious conferences for computer graphics and interactive techniques. Deputy Digital Minister Datuk Wilson Ugak Kumbong announced this development, highlighting the event's potential to enhance the country's digital ecosystem and establish ASEAN as a global creative powerhouse.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Deputy Minister Kumbong emphasized the Malaysian government's commitment to supporting the computer graphics and interactive techniques industry as part of their vision for a sustainable, inclusive, and competitive future. In his keynote address at the ASEAN Digital Content Summit (ADCS) 2025 at Persada Johor, he expressed his pleasure at Malaysia securing the bid to host SIGGRAPH Asia 2026.

The conference is anticipated to attract over 3,000 industry professionals from Asia, the United States, and Europe. It is expected to foster new opportunities for collaboration, innovation, and investment within Malaysia's rapidly expanding creative technology sector.

Before Malaysia hosts the event, SIGGRAPH Asia 2025 will take place in Hong Kong in December.
