Kuala lumpur: The 48AB/2025 series of the Kekar Malindo Exercise between the Malaysian Army (TDM) and the Indonesian National Army (TNI-AD) commenced today with an opening ceremony at the 13th Battalion of the Royal Malay Regiment (13 RAMD), Pakit Camp, Sri Aman. This bilateral exercise involves the 13 RAMD representing the 3rd Brigade and the 641/Bear Infantry Battalion (Yonif 641/BRU) representing the 19th/Khatulistiwa Infantry Brigade (Brigif 19/KH).

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the 10-day exercise comprises phases of theoretical classes, cross-training exercises, and field training exercises (FTX CIW) in the Bayai area of Sri Aman. The exercise serves as an annual training initiative between TDM and TNI-AD to strengthen cooperation through sharing knowledge, doctrines, and tactics, techniques, and procedures in infantry operations.

The opening ceremony was officiated by the 3rd Brigade Commander Brigadier General Khairuddin Zakaria and Commander of the 19th/Khatulistiwa Infantry Brigade Colonel Inf Misael Marthen Jenry Polii, who presented the Toha insignia to the participating personnel. The exercise aligns with the Fifth Pillar of the 30th Chief of Army's Maiden Directive, the Defence Diplomacy Shift, aimed at enhancing joint training efforts with friendly nations.
