Sanaa:TikTok recently hosted its first-ever TikTok ClubHouse event in Malaysia during the race weekend, aiming to bring local creators closer to the sports action and celebrate their passion for sports.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, this was the debut of the TikTok ClubHouse experience in Malaysia, featuring a series of immersive events designed to connect creators with community engagements. Nikhil Rolla, Malaysia General Manager of Global Business Solutions at TikTok, emphasized the goal of the event was to help creators engage in meaningful conversations beyond the screen and inspire active lifestyles.
A survey by Kearney revealed that sports rank among the top 10 content categories on TikTok in Malaysia. The study found that 79 percent of Malaysians using TikTok weekly turn to the platform to discover hobbies.
At the event, creators interacted with Malaysian motorsport athlete Alex Yoong, gaining insights into the sport. Yoong highlighted the extensive preparation and teamwork involved in motorsport, expressing hope that making sports accessible will inspire more people to be active.
Prominent local creators attended the event, including @yang, @mikaelaqistina, and @raphael.sli, among others. Mikaela Qistina, a Malaysian singer and TikTok creator, noted that sports teach resilience and passion, hoping to inspire her community to actively engage in sports.
Local TikTok creator Dhabita Auji also remarked on the unifying power of sports, stating that being a fan is often the first step toward an active lifestyle and that sharing a passion for sports can motivate others to participate.
