Malaysia’s Stock Market Stability Reinforced by Government Policies

Kuala Lumpur:Malaysia's stock market is currently stable, upheld by transparent government policies and an environment that promotes foreign fund inflows, according to Finance Minister II Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the current performance of Malaysia's stock market indicates the stability of its capital market, even amid global geopolitical changes and uncertainties.

Amir Hamzah emphasized that stock prices will fluctuate due to various global events as geopolitics undergo significant changes. However, he assured that the overall stability of Malaysia's stock market is maintained through transparent government policies and measures supporting foreign fund inflows.

He addressed these points during the Ministers' Question Time in the Dewan Rakyat in response to a question from Datuk Awang Hashim (PN-Pendang) about the potential economic impact of a stock value drop exceeding RM1 billion and the factors influencing foreign investment withdrawals.

Amir Hamzah highlighted that the stock market's stability is further supported by substantial foreign direct investment inflows, following Malaysia's volume of approved investments.
