Durian tunggal: A man and a woman were found dead in a car at Taman Inang Sari, Durian Tunggal here around midnight last night. Alor Gajah district police chief Supt Ahmad Abu Bakar reported that the bodies of the duo, aged 31 and 33, were discovered at 12.05 am.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, a team of personnel dispatched to the scene found that both victims had died, and preliminary checks on the bodies revealed no elements of foul play, including robbery or signs of a struggle. Ahmad informed reporters that the police had earlier received a report on the woman's disappearance, lodged by her mother on September 17, after she could not be located.

Ahmad elaborated that the police had not had time to take further action on the missing person report before receiving information about the discovery of the two individuals. "Before the missing person case could be opened, we received information from members of the public about the discovery of the bodies," he stated. Initial checks identified the woman as the individual reported missing, while the man is believed to be her acquaintance.

Based on the condition of the bodies, which had already begun to swell, both victims are believed to have died about three days ago. Checks indicated that both victims were residents of Melaka, with the woman being single. Her employer also informed police that she had not reported for work for the past three days.

The bodies of both victims have been sent to the Forensic Unit for post-mortem examinations to determine the cause of death, and the case has been classified as sudden death.
