Man Attacked By Crocodile: Public Advised To Exercise Caution Along Sungai Perak

Teluk intan: The Wildlife and National Parks Department (Perhilitan) has advised the public to exercise caution when carrying out activities along Sungai Perak, following an incident in which a man was attacked by a crocodile in Kampung Sungai Buaya near Teluk Intan last Saturday.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Perak director Yusoff Shariff emphasized that members of the public, especially fishermen, should avoid wading into the river or fishing alone in the Sungai Perak area. Perhilitan is actively monitoring the Sungai Perak area and has installed crocodile warning signs to remind the public to remain vigilant to prevent any untoward incidents.

The media recently reported that a man sustained serious knee injuries after being attacked by a crocodile at an orchard area in Kampung Sungai Buaya. Yusoff stated that the department received the report at 6.30 pm, and the injured victim was subsequently taken to Teluk Intan Hospital for treatment.

He further mentioned that the crocodile could have come from a nearby irrigation canal that overflowed due to floods in the surrounding area.
