Man Feared Drowned While Clam Digging in Sungai Pahang

Pekan: A man is feared to have drowned after going missing while looking for clams with his family along Sungai Pahang near Kampung Bukit Kenau, Pekan this evening.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Peramu Fire and Rescue Station chief Wan Samsul Effendi Wan Mahmud reported that the victim, Mohd Zainuren Abd Rashid, 45, was swept away by currents around 6 pm while clam digging with four of his family members. Firefighters initiated a search at 7.13 pm in the area where he was last seen but were unable to locate him.

Family members reportedly witnessed Mohd Zainuren being carried away by the river currents but were unsuccessful in their attempts to find him. The search efforts were put on hold at 7.30 pm and are scheduled to continue the next day.
