Man Found Dead Near Railway Tracks Was Strangled – Police

Sungai serian: A post-mortem on the body of a man found near the railway tracks in Sungai Serian, Kalumpang, Hulu Selangor yesterday confirmed that the victim died from strangulation using a rope. Hulu Selangor district police chief Supt Ibrahim Husin stated that the identity of the victim has yet to be determined, and the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Supt Ibrahim Husin noted that there were strangulation marks on the victim's neck, believed to have been caused by a rope. These marks are suspected to match the rope that resembled a chain and was worn around the victim's neck. The discovery of the man's body was made by a member of the public at approximately 10.30 am yesterday. The victim's hands and feet were bound, and his head was wrapped in cloth secured with black and white tape.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the body was likely thrown off the Kampung Sungai Serian bridge, which stands at a height of 11.15 metres. Further checks indicated that the victim had been deceased for more than four days prior to the discovery, and no identification documents were found on him.

The police are urging members of the public with any information to come forward and contact the investigating officer Insp Mohamad Fadli Abdul Aziz at 03-6064 1222 or the nearest police station.
