Man Injured in Ladang Kemahang Shooting, Police Search for Five Suspected Assailants

Kuala lumpur: A man sustained an injury after being shot in the chin during an incident in Ladang Kemahang, Tanah Merah, earlier today. Tanah Merah district police chief Supt Mohd Haki Hasbullah reported that the incident occurred at approximately 2:30 am. A salesman and his friends, who were patrolling the area from 1:30 am in search of cow thieves, encountered a group of about five men, including both foreigners and locals. The suspects allegedly fired several shots at the salesman and his companions, who subsequently fled to safety.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, one of the salesman's friends, Mohd Khairul Amri Ab Kadir, 43, was struck in the chin during the shooting. He was promptly taken to Tanah Merah Hospital for treatment. In addition, the shooting victim's Honda EX5 motorcycle was reportedly stolen by a local suspect during the altercation. Police are actively seeking the five suspects involved and have urged anyone with information regarding the incident to contact the nearest police station.

Meanwhile, the shooting victim's brother, Mohd Amirul Akil, 38, disclosed that his brother was patrolling with other residents to monitor their cows in the Lalang Pepuyu area when they encountered the group on a three-wheeled motorcycle. Shots were fired by the group, with one bullet hitting his brother's chin. Residents quickly transported him to the hospital for medical care.

Mohd Amirul Akil further mentioned that cow thefts have been an ongoing issue in the region, as many livestock are allowed to roam freely by residents. He noted that the thieves are suspected of using tranquilizers to subdue the cows before transporting them elsewhere.
