Man Injured In Simpang Ampat Shooting

Kuala lumpur: A local man was injured in a shooting incident at the Seri Tambun commercial area here this morning. Seberang Perai Selatan district police chief Supt Jay January Siowou confirmed that the 37-year-old victim sustained a gunshot wound to his right arm during the incident, which occurred at about 10 am. He was immediately taken to Seberang Jaya Hospital (HSJ) for medical treatment.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, investigations at the scene have been conducted, and several pieces of evidence have been collected to aid in the investigation. Supt Jay January Siowou stated that the investigations into the motive behind the shooting are still ongoing, with the police considering all possible angles. He also cautioned the public against speculating on the incident, as it could disrupt the ongoing investigation.

The case is currently being investigated under Section 307 of the Penal Code for attempted murder and Section 39 of the Arms Act 1960.
