Alor gajah: Police have arrested a man suspected of being involved in the theft of Telekom Malaysia (TM) cables worth about RM10,000 along Jalan Besar Kemuning, Gadek, here last Sunday.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Alor Gajah District Police acting chief DSP Azrul Mohamed stated that the incident occurred at about 3.10 am. A police patrol team noticed a suspicious-looking car while conducting crime prevention rounds. Upon further observation, it was revealed that three men were stealing cables, prompting a patrol car to be called to the location.
The car carrying the 29-year-old suspect attempted to flee but was pursued by police for about 5 kilometers to Jalan Keru, Kemuning, before skidding at a bend. The suspect was apprehended, while two other suspects managed to escape.
Azrul mentioned that police seized a Proton Wira car, two wire cutters, 61 cut cables, 10 cable coils, a wallet, and a key. Efforts are ongoing to track down the two remaining suspects, with assistance from the K9 Unit.
