Manila street partially closed for 2-week drainage works

MANILA: The Department of Public Works and Highways – North Manila District Engineering Office (DPWH-NMDEO) will conduct a two-week drainage work along the northeast-bound lane of Loyola Street in Manila starting Friday.

In a social media post on Thursday, the DPWH-National Capital Region advised motorists of a traffic slowdown in the affected areas and to use possible alternative routes.

‘Starting Friday, Aug. 2, 2024, the DPWH-NMDEO will conduct drainage construction activities covering the northeast-bound lane of Loyola Street passing across the intersection of Earnshaw Street,’ it said in a public advisory.

The department added that scheduled works would partially close Earnshaw Street.

‘Road rehabilitation works along the intersection of Earnshaw Street will cover the northbound lane with 12 linear meters long, 4.50 meters wide of Loyola Street, requiring partial road lane closure along Earnshaw Street,’ it said.

The lanes will be reopened once the drainage work is completed on Aug. 16, it added.
