Masidi Appointed GRS Deputy Chairman

Kota kinabalu: Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (PGRS) deputy president Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun, who is also Sabah Deputy Chief Minister II and state Finance Minister, has been appointed Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) deputy chairman. Masidi confirmed the appointment when contacted by Bernama today, saying the decision was made during the GRS Supreme Council meeting today.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Masidi briefly stated, "Yes. We had a GRS Supreme Council meeting this afternoon." His appointment adds to the leadership structure of GRS, which now includes four other deputy chairmen: Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) president Datuk Seri Dr Joachim Gunsalam, Parti Cinta Sabah president Tan Sri Anifah Aman, Parti Harapan Rakyat Sabah president Tan Sri Liew Yun Fah, and Liberal Democratic Party president Datuk Chin Su Phin.

PGRS president Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor continues to serve as GRS chairman. Meanwhile, changes in the coalition's leadership include GRS deputy secretary-general Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali, also the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister, who has been appointed GRS secretary-general, replacing Masidi. PGRS secretary-general Razali Razi has taken over Armizan's previous role as GRS deputy secretary-general.

Additionally, Lo Su Fui, who serves as Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Federal Territories), was appointed GRS treasurer-general, having previously served as the coalition's deputy treasurer-general. PBS information chief Datuk Joniston Bangkuai, who is also Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister, retained his position as GRS information chief.

The appointment of Masidi follows the resignation of United Sabah National Organisation (USNO) president Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia as GRS deputy chairman, marking a significant reshuffle within the coalition's leadership.
