Kuala lumpur: The Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) carried the spirit of independence beyond borders today as 48 of its overseas offices came together virtually for the 'Semarak Kibar Jalur Gemilang' programme. MATRADE chairman Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican said the participation of its overseas offices together with more than 300 local staff reflected a spirit of patriotism and unity that transcended geographical boundaries.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Reezal highlighted the importance of honoring the Jalur Gemilang and the Negaraku, which embody the nation's identity. He emphasized the need to balance emotion and reason to drive the nation forward. He also expressed his vision for MATRADE to become a model agency in instilling values of racial unity, aiming to make it one of the best agencies in the country.
The event featured the flag-off of the official vehicle, accompanied by four electric vehicles (EVs) and 10 motorcycles, symbolizing togetherness and sustainability. Reezal stated that the annual programme not only fostered patriotism but also united all MATRADE staff, within Malaysia and abroad.
Also present at the event were MATRADE chief executive officer (CEO) Datuk Seri Mohd Mustafa Abdul Aziz, Deputy CEO (Export Acceleration) Abu Bakar Yusof, Deputy CEO (Exporter Development) Mansor Shah Wahid, as well as China and Northeast Asia and ASEAN and Oceania Section Director Mazlan Harun.
