MATRADE to Maintain Vigilant Market Monitoring for Malaysian Exporters

Kuala lumpur: The Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) will continue to monitor market conditions in real time, feeding intelligence back to Malaysian exporters as conditions shift. Its chairman, Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican, emphasized the fluidity of the situation in West Asia and the need for careful navigation of global supply chains in the coming months.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Reezal Merican stated that MATRADE's role extends beyond the publication of statistics, underscoring the importance of avoiding complacency despite encouraging export figures. He highlighted that Malaysian exports have made a significant contribution to the national export success, which MATRADE aims to bolster by reinforcing trade resilience and export competitiveness in global markets.

Reezal Merican noted that the agency, through its network of 47 overseas trade offices, will continue to provide real-time market intelligence to Malaysian exporters as conditions evolve. The Trade Resilience Task Force of MATRADE aims to gather insights to help exporters anticipate disruptions rather than merely react to them.

Through ongoing engagement with the business community, MATRADE remains committed to ensuring that every Malaysian company, regardless of size or sector, has access to market intelligence, commercial diplomacy, and strategic guidance needed to transform global demand into sustained, domestically rooted growth.

Malaysia's total trade grew by 22.4 percent year on year to a record RM1.796 trillion, with exports increasing by 27.5 percent to RM971.59 billion, marking the fastest pace since 2021.
