Kuala lumpur: Maulidur Rasul should serve as an opportunity for Muslims to reflect on themselves and strive to become better, Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil said. He emphasized that the noble values espoused by Prophet Muhammad SAW should guide Muslims in their daily lives, fostering harmonious families, communities, and society.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Fahmi urged Muslims to commemorate the birth of the Prophet by reflecting on his struggles, sacrifices, and compassion in guiding humanity. He noted that love for the Prophet should manifest not only in words and prayers but also through good character, kind words, willingness to forgive, and concern for others, as expressed in his Facebook post today.
The 1448H/2026M National Maulidur Rasul celebration is set to take place at the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Cultural and Arts Centre, Universiti Putra Malaysia, Serdang, Selangor, tomorrow. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and his wife, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, are scheduled to attend the event.
Meanwhile, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Dr Zulkifli Hasan highlighted the importance of strengthening the culture of seeking knowledge among Muslims. He emphasized the significance of reading the Sirah (biography) of Prophet Muhammad and Hadith to deepen understanding and internalize his teachings.
Zulkifli stated that the observance of Maulidur Rasul should go beyond mere celebrations, urging Muslims to make efforts to truly know and emulate the Prophet in daily life. He recommended that households have collections of the Prophet's Hadith, such as Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim, for reference, and suggested Yusuf al-Qaradawi's work on the Prophetic Sunnah as a useful guide.
He asserted that understanding and emulating the Prophet is an obligation for all Muslims, achievable only through seeking knowledge. Zulkifli stressed the importance of determination and commitment to learning, understanding, and emulating the life of the Prophet to nurture a deep love for him.
