Kuala lumpur: Muslims have been urged to emulate the character and values of Prophet Muhammad SAW by strengthening unity, showing compassion and charity, and putting these values into practice in daily life, in conjunction with the Maulidur Rasul 1448H/2026M celebration today.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Sultan of Kedah, Al Aminul Karim Sultan Sallehuddin Sultan Badlishah, emphasized that Muslims should uphold the values of love, wisdom, and compassion, particularly as the world continues to face conflicts, wars, humanitarian crises, and a growing culture of hatred and division. He highlighted the situation in Palestine and other restive Islamic regions as reminders that peace must not be taken lightly, and urged Muslims to strengthen unity, increase prayers, and extend assistance according to their capabilities.
Meanwhile, the Yang Dipertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan, Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir, stressed the importance of strengthening appreciation for the Rukun Negara as a guide in shaping societal character, morals, and civilisation based on religious and customary values. He underscored the necessity of adhering to the principles of Loyalty to King and Country, Supremacy of the Constitution, and the Rule of Law to ensure compliance with established regulations.
In Terengganu, the Regent, Tengku Muhammad Ismail Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin, asserted that emulating the Prophet should go beyond declarations of love and be reflected in actions marked by sincerity, dedication, and steadfastness. He called for actions that draw individuals closer to Allah through obligatory observances, increased charitable deeds, and contributions that benefit fellow human beings.
Penang Yang Dipertua Negeri, Tun Ramli Ngah Talib, advised leaders to focus on easing tensions and reconciling disputes, citing Prophet Muhammad SAW's leadership in resolving a historical dispute among Arab tribes as an exemplary model. He emphasized leadership that guides humanity toward justice, not hostility.
In Sabah, Yang Dipertua Negeri Tun Musa Aman highlighted the role of technological advancements in spreading knowledge and strengthening societal ties. He cautioned against using digital platforms to spread slander or hatred that could undermine public harmony, advocating instead for using technology to foster knowledge and beneficial relationships.
