Maxis Celebrates Meaningful Connections During Gawai And Kaamatan In Sarawak, Sabah

Kuala Lumpur: Maxis, Malaysia's leading telecommunications service provider, embraced the spirit of unity and connection through its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives in Sabah and Sarawak during the recent Gawai and Kaamatan festivals.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Loh Keh Jiat, Chief Consumer Business Officer of Maxis, in a statement said that these initiatives exemplify their commitment to engaging the communities and building connections with lasting value. Loh emphasized that for Maxis, connection transcends technology, focusing instead on the relationships nurtured and the significant moments shared. He remarked, "This Kaamatan and Gawai, Maxis proudly celebrates the shared heritage and the deep bonds that truly unite Malaysians."

The statement highlighted Maxis's partnership with the Sibu Autistic Association (SAA) in Sarawak for a meaningful CSR event themed 'Gayu Guru Gerai Nyamai Saa bersama Raikan Gawai 2025'. In Sabah, Maxis continued its support as a main sponsor for the annual Kaamatan Harvest Festival at the Kadazandusun Cultural Association (KDCA).

Additionally, Maxis initiated a convoy that journeyed from Benoni Town, Papar, through the iconic Monsopiad Heritage Village, to KDCA. The initiative also saw the release of two brand films - one depicted a couple navigating challenges to celebrate their first Gawai together, while the other illustrated a young Dusun girl discovering her confidence through connection during Kaamatan.
