Iskandar puteri: The Iskandar Puteri City Council (MBIP) has issued a Cease Operations Notice against NSO Malaysia Sdn Bhd (Network School) effective tomorrow following non-compliance with licensing conditions and premise usage under the jurisdiction of the local authority (PBT). MBIP informed in a statement today that the decision was made during the MBIP Special Full Meeting regarding the activities carried out by the company in Forest City, Iskandar Puteri.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, MBIP conducted inspections and monitoring of the activities carried out by Network School on July 12, 14, 19, and 20. "For the premises located at P-01-11, Teluk Bintang, Jalan Forest City 5, Pulau Satu Forest City, 81550 Johor Bahru, the identified offence is operating without a business licence. Accordingly, action under the Cease Operations Notice is taken pursuant to By-Law 3(1) of the Trade, Business and Industrial Licensing By-Laws, MBIP 2018," the statement read today.
MBIP stated that for the premises at address P-01-12, Teluk Bintang, Jalan Forest City 5, Pulau Satu Forest City, 81550 Johor Bahru, it decided to take action to revoke the business premise and advertisement license. This action follows findings that the premises were carrying out business activities different from the approval granted, which was for a management office. "The licence revocation action is taken under the Trade, Business and Industrial Licensing By-Laws, MBIP 2018," it said.
In addition, MBIP also found that the billboard displayed at the premises did not match the application that had been approved. Consequently, a Notice to Comply with Advertising Licence Conditions will be issued under By-Law 18 of the Advertisement By-Laws (MDJBT) 1982 in line with Section 107(2) of the Local Government Act 1976.
MBIP emphasised that all business activities within its administrative area must always comply with prevailing laws and licensing conditions. According to the local authority, such compliance is important to protect public interest, order, and the integrity of the local administrative system. "MBIP will not compromise and will take prosecution action if the company continues to carry out activities contrary to the law," according to the statement.
Earlier, claims went viral on social media linking the existence of Network School in Forest City to an Israeli agenda to quietly establish a foothold in the country through cryptocurrency investments.
