MED4IRN to Launch Digital Transformation Units Across Ministries: PM Anwar

Kuala lumpur: The National Digital Economy and Fourth Industrial Revolution Council (MED4IRN) has reached a decision to establish a Digital Transformation Unit (DTU) within every ministry, as well as to expedite the registration process for MyDigital ID, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim announced.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the council has also approved initiatives to enhance MyGov Malaysia, transforming it into a singular, AI-driven digital gateway. Additional priorities include broadening internet coverage and enhancing service quality at public universities and government training centers, which are crucial for continuous digital education and learning.

During the MED4IRN meeting chaired by Anwar, the focus was on bolstering public-sector digitalization under the MADANI government's innovation agenda. This initiative aims to provide faster, simpler, and more transparent services tailored to the public's needs.

Anwar, who also serves as the Finance Minister, outlined plans for Malaysia to achieve its goal of becoming a Global Digital Creative Hub by 2030. The government has devised the Digital Creative Ecosystem Roadmap 2026-2030 (DICE) to establish Malaysia as a leader in high-quality intellectual property creation and development of world-class creative talent.

These strategies constitute the core of Phase 3 of the Malaysia Digital Economy Blueprint (2026-2030), which prioritizes empowering businesses, enhancing living standards, and driving digital economic reforms. Anwar reaffirmed the MADANI government's commitment to providing efficient, people-centric services to ensure Malaysia's competitiveness and prosperity in the swiftly evolving digital landscape.
