Nanning:A national medical imaging artificial intelligence competition took place on October 22-23 in Nanning, located in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The event gathered researchers, medical professionals, and technology companies to evaluate AI tools designed to assist doctors in disease detection and to explore healthcare cooperation between China and Southeast Asian nations.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the 2026 National Healthcare Security Medical Imaging AI Recognition Competition attracted 1,332 registered teams, including participants from ASEAN member states. Of these teams, 66 advanced to the finals.

The competition emphasized the potential for collaborative efforts in healthcare between China and Southeast Asian countries, focusing on the advancement of AI technologies in medical imaging.
