MELAKA AWAITS GUIDELINES FOR CIVIL SERVANTS SALARY HIKE – CM

MELAKA, The Melaka government is awaiting guidelines regarding the implementation of the salary increase for civil servants from the federal government in order to adjust the initiative at the state level, said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh.

He said the increase would add to the financial expenditure of the state government, and it needs to seek new sources of income to balance the expenditure.

“The implementation of the 13 per cent salary increase for civil servants as announced recently by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will be tabled in the 2025 Budget because the increase is expected to take effect on Dec 1 this year.”

“So Melaka still has time to see how the performances of civil servants in Melaka can demonstrate the state government’s capability to contribute to the salary increase in line with the federal government’s move,” he told reporters after launching the state government monthly assembly here today.

Meanwhile, Ab Rauf launched the MyMelaka News platform via Telegram whi
ch will serve as a conduit for disseminating announcements regarding promotions and publicity for all state government activities to the entire population and targeted groups within the state.

Through this medium, civil servants could share their ideas and perspectives to further advance Melaka in various aspects, and it will serve as a two-way communication platform among all civil servants in the state.

“I am offering incentives ranging from RM500 to RM10,000 to civil servants who can provide substantial and creative ideas through the Telegram channel to enhance the state government’s administrative system,” he added.
