Melaka: Pakatan Harapan (PH) Melaka is in the final stages of negotiations with like-minded parties, including Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu), to establish a PH Plus alliance for the upcoming Melaka State Election. The discussions are being held following decisions from a recent PH Presidential Council meeting. According to BERNAMA News Agency, Melaka PH chairman Adly Zahari stated that while discussions with Bersatu are ongoing, any formal announcement regarding cooperation will be made only after the negotiations are concluded. He shared this information during a press conference following the launch of Amanah's election machinery in Duyong. The event was attended by Amanah president Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu, who also serves as the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, and Amanah deputy president Datuk Seri Dr Mujahid Yusof Rawa. Adly Zahari, who also serves as the Deputy Defence Minister, confirmed that the seat distribution within PH-comprising PKR, Amanah, and DAP-has been settled. Amanah is set to contest eight seats, including Bukit Katil, Durian Tunggal, Telok Mas, and Merlimau. Regarding possible collaboration with Barisan Nasional (BN), Adly clarified that no negotiations have taken place thus far. In a related development in Kuantan, PKR secretary-general Datuk Dr Fuziah Salleh expressed the party's readiness to face the Melaka state election, irrespective of the outcome of political cooperation talks. Speaking at a press conference after the Madani Kita Programme at the Sungai Isap Damai Multipurpose Hall, she emphasized that PKR remains prepared to contest against any opponents.
