Menu RAHMAH Initiative Sees Significant Expansion Across Malaysia

Melaka: A total of 3,210 food and beverage premises nationwide have registered as Menu RAHMAH operators as of July this year, says Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Deputy Minister Datuk Dr Fuziah Salleh. She highlighted that the encouraging response demonstrated a growing willingness among food operators to collaborate with the government in easing the people's cost-of-living burden.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the highest participation was recorded among food stall or food court operators, with 1,016 registrations, in addition to restaurants, hawkers, food trucks, and bazaars. Fuziah emphasized that Menu RAHMAH is not just a temporary initiative but a part of the government's ongoing efforts to prioritize the people's cost of living. She also noted that focus was given to areas with high public demand, including Rest and Service Areas (RandR).

The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) plans to continue enhancing the promotion of Menu RAHMAH through the 'Jom Cari Menu RAHMAH' programme. This effort includes working with industry players, traders' associations, and food operators to expand menu options to more locations.

Meanwhile, Fuziah reported that the MADANI RAHMAH Sales Programme (PJRM) had also expanded, ensuring that daily necessities at lower prices are accessible to more people. As of July 2026, PJRM had been implemented 19,322 times, surpassing this year's target of 17,500 implementations, with 25,486,997 transactions recorded nationwide. The programme offers savings of 10 to 30 per cent compared with local market prices and covers essential items such as chicken, fish, eggs, cooking oil, flour, rice, vegetables, fruits, and household necessities.

PJRM has been carried out across 600 state constituencies and 40 zones in the Federal Territories, focusing on areas in need. In addition, the KPDN Mini Carnival at the Melaka level, which began yesterday and ends tomorrow, has brought together various government initiatives, including exhibitions, advisory services, business matching, Menu RAHMAH, and PJRM.

The carnival also features reasonably priced sales by 27 traders, along with stage activities, competitions, and an electronic sports (E-Sports) tournament in collaboration with Todak. Fuziah mentioned that the programme received an encouraging response, with nearly 3,000 visitors recorded yesterday, and the number is expected to rise today and on the final day of the programme tomorrow.
