Kuala lumpur: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued an advisory regarding Typhoon Bavi, which has been detected approximately 1,896 kilometers northeast of Sandakan, Sabah.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, MetMalaysia stated that the typhoon was located around 1,151 kilometers southeast of Taipei, Taiwan, at the time of the advisory. The observation made at 8 am indicated that Typhoon Bavi was moving in a west-northwest direction at a speed of 20 kilometers per hour. The typhoon's maximum wind speeds could potentially reach 185 kilometers per hour.
MetMalaysia assured that Typhoon Bavi does not pose any significant threat to Malaysia at this time.
