Kuala lumpur: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds in Kuala Lumpur, Labuan, and 11 states until 10 pm tonight. In a statement issued at 7.30 pm today, the department said that the bad weather is expected to affect the entire states of Perlis, Penang, and Perak.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the same warning has been issued for Kedah, encompassing areas such as Kubang Pasu, Kota Setar, Pokok Sena, Padang Terap, Yan, Pendang, Kuala Muda, Sik, Baling, Kulim, and Bandar Baharu. Additionally, Selangor is on alert, with Hulu Selangor, Gombak, and Hulu Langat expected to experience the adverse weather conditions.
The warning extends to Kelantan, specifically in Gua Musang, and several areas of Pahang, including Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Raub, Jerantut, Bentong, Temerloh, Maran, Bera, and Rompin. Negeri Sembilan's districts of Jelebu, Kuala Pilah, Jempol, and Tampin are also advised to prepare for the impending weather.
In Johor, Segamat, Kluang, Mersing, Kulai, and Kota Tinggi have been identified as areas at risk. Meanwhile, in Sabah, the Interior regions such as Sipitang, Tenom, Kuala Penyu, Beaufort, and Nabawan, along with the West Coast area of Putatan, have been warned.
The alert also covers parts of Sarawak, including Sri Aman, Betong (Betong), Sarikei (Pakan and Julau), Sibu (Kanowit), Kapit (Song and Kapit), Miri (Beluru, Telang Usan, and Marudi), and Limbang.
