MetMalaysia Issues Weather Warning for Thunderstorms and Heavy Rain Across Malaysia

Kuala lumpur: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds expected to affect nearly all states nationwide until 7 pm today.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the warning from MetMalaysia covers the entire Kelantan and Johor, along with the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur and Labuan. The adverse weather conditions are also expected in several districts of Kedah, including Pokok Sena, Padang Terap, Pendang, Kuala Muda, Sik, Baling, Kulim, and Bandar Baharu. In Perak, areas like Larut, Matang and Selama, Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Kampar, Hilir Perak, Batang Padang, and Muallim are under alert.

The forecast extends to Terengganu, specifically in Besut, Setiu, Hulu Terengganu, Dungun, and Kemaman. Pahang is also expected to experience similar weather in regions such as Cameron Highlands, Jerantut, Bentong, Temerloh, Kuantan, Bera, Pekan, and Rompin.

MetMalaysia's warning further encompasses Selangor, affecting Sabak Bernam, Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor, Gombak, and Hulu Langat, as well as Negeri Sembilan, including Jelebu, Seremban, Kuala Pilah, Jempol, and Tampin. In Sarawak, the adverse weather conditions are anticipated in Kuching, Betong (Saratok and Kabong), Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah, Bintulu (Tatau), Miri (Subis and Beluru), and Limbang.

In Sabah, affected areas include the interior regions of Sipitang, Tenom, Kuala Penyu, Beaufort, Keningau, and Tambunan; the west coast covering Papar, Putatan, Penampang, Kota Kinabalu, and Tuaran; and parts of Sandakan, including Kinabatangan and Sandakan itself.
