Kuala Lumpur: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) will conduct testing of the Malaysian Tsunami Early Warning System (SAATNM) siren in Balik Pulau, Penang, from 9 am to noon tomorrow.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the objective of the test is to evaluate the new tsunami siren system as part of the Site Acceptance Test (SAT) at the location. MetMalaysia announced this initiative through a post on platform X, emphasizing the importance of the test.

Residents in the surrounding area have been advised not to panic upon hearing the siren, as it is only a test. MetMalaysia assured that an update will be issued should there be any changes to the scheduled testing.
