Kuala lumpur: Thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds are expected to affect 10 states until 9 pm today. In a statement, the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has alerted residents in various regions to brace for adverse weather conditions.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the areas expected to be affected include Kuala Muda, Sik, Baling, and Kulim in Kedah, as well as Larut, Matang and Selama, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, and Kampar in Perak. The regions of Gua Musang in Kelantan, along with Hulu Terengganu, Dungun, and Kemaman in Terengganu, are also on the alert list.
The weather warning extends to Pahang, where Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Raub, Bentong, Kuantan, and Pekan are likely to experience similar conditions. In Selangor, the district of Hulu Selangor is under watch, while in Negeri Sembilan, Jelebu, Seremban, Kuala Pilah, Rembau, and Tampin are anticipated to be affected. Additionally, in Johor, areas such as Segamat, Kluang, Kulai, Kota Tinggi, and Johor Bahru are on the alert.
In Sarawak, the regions include Samarahan's Simunjan, Sri Aman, Betong's Pusa, Betong, and Saratok, Sarikei, Sibu's Kanowit, Kapit's Song and Belaga, Miri's Beluru, Telang Usan, Miri and Marudi, and Limbang. In Sabah, the impacted areas are Pedalaman, Pantai Barat including Papar, Putatan, Penampang, Kota Kinabalu, Tuaran, and Kota Belud, as well as Tawau and the Federal Territory of Labuan.
