MFA and KUSKOP Plan Franchise Trade Mission to Saudi Arabia to Tap Middle East Market.


Riyadh: The Malaysian Franchise Association (MFA), in partnership with the Ministry of Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development (KUSKOP), has announced a franchise trade mission to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This initiative aims to introduce Malaysian franchise brands to the expanding Middle East market.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the mission is scheduled from November 5-9, 2024, coinciding with the BIBAN24 Exhibition Programme at the Riyadh Front Exhibition and Conference Centre. MFA chairman Datuk Radzali Hassan stated that several prominent Malaysian franchise companies, spanning sectors such as food and beverage, education, and services, will participate in this program.

Datuk Radzali emphasized the potential of the Saudi Arabian market for Malaysian franchise companies, highlighting the ongoing economic reforms under Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030. These reforms position the franchise sector as a key driver of economic growth. “We believe Malaysian brands are able to contribute to this goal while increa
sing their presence in the international market,” he noted in a statement.

The mission will feature business matching sessions, round table discussions, and franchise exhibitions, providing a platform for Malaysian franchises to explore new business avenues. Led by Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick, the mission will include various government agencies such as Perbadanan Nasional Bhd, SME Corp, SME Bank, the Malaysian Cooperative Commission, and Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation.

The overarching goal of the mission is to create new opportunities for Malaysian franchise companies to export their brands to the Saudi Arabian market. MFA also encourages more Malaysian franchises to venture into the global market, positioning Malaysia as an international franchise hub.
