Alor gajah: The Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) continues to strengthen community welfare and civil-military cooperation (CIMIC) through the implementation of the 'Program Jiwa Murni MADANI' (PJM) in the Alor Gajah district at Padang Awam Kampung Gadek here today.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the community-oriented programme serves as a platform for the ministry and the Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) to engage with the community through various social and community service activities. Among the activities provided were free health screenings, career and volunteer exhibitions, entrepreneurship, RAHMAH Sales, sports competitions, and mobile government service counters.
A total of five community projects, worth RM179,200, were also carried out by the 9th Squadron of the Royal Engineers Regiment (9 SKN RAJD), the Malaysian Army (TDM) around Alor Gajah. The project involves the repair work of the Multi-Purpose Hall playground in Kampung Baru, Pondok Batang; the fence of the Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (Tamil) Durian Tunggal; the futsal court in Taman Seri Kelemak, Rembia; the roof of the Madrasah Seri Kemuning, Kampung Kemuning; and the Surau Madrasah Khairiah, Kampung Paya Datuk Hilir.
At the event, Deputy Defence Minister Adly Zahari also presented a RM133,000 cheque for the Service Centre Initiative to benefit eight recipients for the implementation of various projects and community needs. The recipients are the Board of Surau Kampung Ulu Batang Melaka; Surau Al Mubarakah, Taman Dimensi; Chee Sen Ting Temple Association, Machap Baru; Board of Surau As Syakirin, Taman Sri Sutera, and Surau Al Ittihadiyah, Taman MAIM Rumbia.
Also receiving donations were the Kuan Yen Shrine Association, Batang Pondok; the Kariah Surau Committee of Kampung Gubah, Nyalas; and SJKT Batang Melaka for the development of the school's GreenLab. In addition, 500 RAHMAH baskets were also distributed to the MAF veterans' association and local residents, reflecting the government's ongoing commitment to strengthening community welfare by providing more conducive, inclusive facilities that directly benefit the local community.
Earlier, the Religious Corps of the Malaysian Armed Forces (KAGAT) organised the 'Program Ilmu dan Muafakat MADANI' (PIKAT) at Masjid Kelemak here yesterday, which included activities such as congregational Maghrib and Isyak prayers, a main lecture, charity contributions, and sessions to engage with the community and mosque congregation. The continuous organisation of PIKAT and PJM reflects MINDEF's comprehensive approach in engaging with the community by combining elements of spirituality, welfare and community involvement.
Through it, the connection between the MAF and the community is strengthened and reinforced through CIMIC, in line with the aspirations of Core 4 of the National Defence Strategic Plan (PSPN) 2026-2030.
