MNCF Seeks Urgent Talks With YSD Over Postponed Cycling Series

Kuala lumpur: The Malaysian National Cycling Federation (MNCF) is seeking an immediate face-to-face meeting with the management of Yayasan Sime Darby (YSD) to resolve the crisis that has led to the postponement of the YSD Track Cycling and BMX Series 2026. MNCF president Datuk Amarjit Singh Gill emphasized the need for immediate discussions to reach a mutual understanding, ensuring the continuation of the talent development series for the future of national cycling.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Amarjit stressed that the issue at hand is not complicated but requires mutual respect as equal strategic partners. He indicated that resolving the matter necessitates a meeting between the top management of YSD and the MNCF executive council members to discuss several issues. While Amarjit refrained from detailing the exact problem, he expressed confidence that with good judgment from all parties, the issue can be resolved.

Previously, YSD announced that the postponement of the race series was due to several technical issues involving MNCF. Amarjit elaborated on this, noting that MNCF remains open and ready to meet at any time to prevent further disruption of the program. He acknowledged YSD's stance on technical issues but maintained that the situation is not overly complex to resolve, highlighting the importance of mutual respect between both parties.

Amarjit reiterated the importance of respecting each other's roles as equal strategic partners and acknowledged YSD's contribution to the development of cycling in the country. He expressed MNCF's respect for YSD's commitment, emphasizing the need for collaborative efforts to move forward.
