MNRB holds Smart Savings Programme to inculcate saving habit among students

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 30 (Bernama) — MNRB Holdings Berhad (MNRB) today held the ‘MNRB Smart Savings’ programme at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Chuah, Port Dickson Negeri Sembilan, to inculcate the savings culture from a young age and expose them to good money management.

 

MNRB, in a statement, said that the financial literacy programme was held as part of the company’s corporate responsibility in conjunction with the Malaysian Unit Trust Week (MSAM) 2022.

 

According to MNRB, various activities related to smart money management have been held for students, including the ‘MNRB Ringgit Smart Squad’ game which requires students to play in groups and answer questions and make decisions related to daily spending habits and the importance of saving money.

 

 

 

At the programme, MNRB, represented by Senior Vice President and Group Chief Strategic Officer Rizal Mohd Zin, handed over contributions in the form of Amanah Saham Nasional Berhad (ASNB) units to all students at the school to encourage them to save money from a young age.

 

The contributions were handed over to SK Chuah Headmaster Datin Maria Mohd Yusof and witnessed by Negeri Sembilan Education Department deputy director Misri Mistama, Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of PNB Group Datuk Mohd Nizam Zainordin and President and Chief Executive Officer of Takaful Ikhlas Family Berhad Muhammad Fikri Mohamad Rawi.

 

According to the statement, RM16,200 was also donated by MNRB wholly-owned subsidiary, Takaful Ikhlas Family Berhad to upgrade the school surau and resource centre for the empowerment of education.

 

 

 

 

“This contribution is from the IKHLAS Barakah House fund which aims to generate positive community development and sustainability through financial assistance and activities that include community involvement,” the statement read.
