Moderate Earthquake Hits North Halmahera, Indonesia

North halmahera: A moderate earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter Scale struck North Halmahera, Indonesia, at 12.19 pm today.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Malaysian Meteorological Department stated that the quake occurred at a depth of 94 kilometres, approximately 105 km north of Ternate, Indonesia. Officials also confirmed that the earthquake poses no tsunami threat to Malaysia.
