Shah alam: The Ministry of Education (MOE) has approved a sum of RM200,000 for immediate repair and electrical work at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Setia Alam following a fire that ravaged one of its classrooms last Monday. Education Minister Datuk Seri Fadhlina Sidek confirmed the allocation, emphasizing the ministry's commitment to restoring the learning environment quickly.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, a technical team from the ministry was dispatched to the school the day after the incident to evaluate the extent of the damage and develop a plan for necessary follow-up actions. Although investigations by the police and Fire and Rescue Department are still underway, measures have been implemented to ensure the safety and usability of the unaffected areas of the school. The repair work is set to commence once the investigations conclude.

Minister Fadhlina expressed the ministry's priority to ensure that students can resume their education in a secure and comfortable setting as soon as possible. She acknowledged the importance of the school environment in facilitating learning and highlighted the urgency of the repair efforts in her Facebook post.

Additionally, Fadhlina commended the prompt actions of SK Setia Alam's teachers, who managed to contain the fire while awaiting the arrival of firefighters. She described their actions as being on the front line of the emergency and expressed gratitude for their dedication and courage. "In a moment of crisis, these teachers did not just stand by and watch. They fought the fire... thank you for looking after this school as if it were your own home," she stated.

The fire incident occurred Monday afternoon, completely destroying a classroom measuring 55.74 square meters. Fortunately, no students were present in the classroom at the time, and the blaze was extinguished before the firefighters arrived on the scene.
