MOE Initiates Action Following Student Assault on Teacher in Kajang

Kajang: The Ministry of Education (MOE) has responded decisively to an incident involving a student assaulting a teacher in Kajang, Selangor. Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek emphasized the ministry's stance against any misconduct involving school staff.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Minister Fadhlina Sidek noted in a Facebook post that the incident was a result of a misunderstanding among the students involved. She confirmed that swift action had been taken, with four students being detained by the police to aid in the investigation. The MOE is committed to taking firm action contingent upon the police investigation outcomes.

Furthermore, Minister Fadhlina has directed both the school and the District Education Office (PPD) to implement intervention programs. These initiatives aim to safeguard the safety and well-being of not only the students and teachers but also the entire school community.

The incident gained public attention after a video surfaced on social media, depicting a male student allegedly assaulting and threatening his teacher. This event reportedly took place at a secondary school on July 28.
