MOE Pledges to Enhance Educational Access with New School Development

Kuala lumpur: The Ministry of Education (MOE) is committed to strengthening school development as part of the country's long-term planning to ensure that every student has access to quality education regardless of location or background. Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek emphasized that school development is focused not only on providing buildings and physical facilities but also on ensuring that access to education aligns with community changes and development.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, this approach forms one of the main foundations of the Malaysia Education Plan 2026-2035, which emphasizes equitable educational opportunities in a quality, safe learning environment capable of developing students' full potential. Fadhlina stated, "The MADANI government will continue to strengthen the development of all types of schools in the country's education system, including government-aided schools (SBK). Our responsibility is to ensure that every change opens up more opportunities and access for children to receive quality education."

Fadhlina made these remarks during her speech at the ground-breaking ceremony of Sekolah Kebangsaan Jenis (T) Labu Division 4. The event was attended by State Education director Khalidah Omar and Matrix Concepts Holdings Berhad group managing director Kelvin Lee. The new school project, a collaboration between the Negri Sembilan Government, Matrix Concepts Holdings Berhad, and the School Governing Board (LPS), will cost RM9 million and is set to replace SJK (T) Labu Division 4. The school will be relocated to the Malaysia Vision Valley (MVV) site, with completion expected in 2028.

Fadhlina highlighted that the new school, situated on a 2.4-hectare (six-acre) site about one kilometre from the original location, is strategically closer to the new development area to improve educational access for the local population. "The new school has a four-storey building equipped with 12 classrooms, 15 special rooms, two pre-school classes, a multipurpose hall, a canteen, a guardhouse, and a school field. The new facility is expected to provide a more complete and conducive learning environment for students and school staff, in addition to supporting the development of students' knowledge, skills, and character," she explained.

Fadhlina also noted that the project underscores the government's commitment to ensuring that educational development progresses alongside the growth of new areas, preparing future generations to face the challenges of an increasingly dynamic world. Established in 1947, SJK (T) Ladang Labu Division 4 has been a cornerstone of education in the community for nearly eight decades.
