MOE Probes Allegations of SPM Exam Paper Sales: Education D-G

Kuala lumpur: The Ministry of Education (MOE) is currently investigating allegations concerning the sale of leaked Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination papers. Education director-general Dr. Mohd Azam Ahmad confirmed that while no official report has been filed, the ministry is aware of these claims that have recently gained traction on social media.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Dr. Mohd Azam addressed the issue during a media briefing at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Putrajaya Presint 11 (1). He mentioned that the Examination Syndicate is managing the situation and assured that they have established procedures to handle such incidents. The allegations include offers to sell leaked SPM questions for prices starting at RM499 per subject, with some sellers even promising refunds for unsatisfactory results.

Dr. Mohd Azam emphasized the security measures in place for the SPM examination papers, ensuring that they are safeguarded and that all security protocols are followed, even in regions affected by floods. He mentioned that authorities are considering storing the examination papers in police lockups to enhance security.

This year, 413,372 candidates are taking the SPM 2025 exams, including students from various educational institutions such as government schools, government-aided schools, Mara Junior Science Colleges (MRSM), and private schools registered with the MOE, among others. The SPM examination commenced today with the Bahasa Melayu Paper 1, followed by the Visual Arts Education (Paper 1 Art Theory) and Bahasa Melayu Paper 2 in the afternoon.
