Kuala Lumpur: The teaching time for the Reproductive and Social Health Education Guidelines (PEERS) module will be increased in the implementation of the 2027 School Curriculum.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek emphasized that the module, which was launched in November of last year, aims to heighten reproductive health awareness among the community, particularly focusing on students, teachers, and parents. The initiative seeks to address sexual harassment comprehensively by urging all Ministry of Education (MOE) educational institutions to adhere strictly to the guidelines. Furthermore, Fadhlina stressed the importance of strengthening psychosocial support services to provide necessary support to students.

Fadhlina also expressed the ministry's serious concern over media reports about the presence of paedophile pages on social media that feature school students. She urged that such pages should be reported immediately to curb the spread of pornographic and immoral content online.

In addition, she called on parents to take a proactive role at home by educating and safeguarding their children against the threat of sexual harassment, emphasizing their responsibility in preserving the dignity of children.
