Bukit aman: Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (JSJ) director Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain has been appointed as the Director-General of the Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) of the Ministry of Home Affairs. This new role will commence tomorrow and is set for a two-year term, lasting from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2027.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar released a statement expressing confidence in Mohd Shuhaily's ability to lead the AKPS effectively. At 53, Mohd Shuhaily brings 26 years of police service experience, having worked in various units within the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) at both national and international levels.
Tan Sri Shamsul Azri highlighted that Mohd Shuhaily's leadership is expected to enhance the country's border security and promote a culture of integrity in alignment with the MADANI values. Mohd Shuhaily holds a Bachelor of International Relations from the International Islamic University Malaysia and a Master of Science in Strategic Studies from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
Mohd Shuhaily's career includes a tenure as a Police Attach© in Washington, United States, from 2010 to 2013. He was appointed as Bukit Aman JSJ director on August 15, 2023.
