Kuala lumpur: The Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) has addressed inaccuracies in a newspaper report concerning remarks made by its Director-General, Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain, about the dismissal of public servants lacking integrity.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the AKPS clarified that the report originated from a special interview with Mohd Shuhaily held at its headquarters over two days. The agency emphasized that the report inaccurately suggested that the dismissal of corrupt public servants is solely under the authority of the Public Service Department (PSD), which misrepresented Mohd Shuhaily's actual statement.
The AKPS has taken steps to correct the misinformation by contacting the newspaper's management, resulting in a published correction. The agency expressed regret for any confusion caused by the reporting error.
