Kuala lumpur: The Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) expressed its full support and stands firmly behind the Malaysian government's unequivocal stance in defending the rights and freedom of the Palestinian people, while also championing universal humanitarian justice and rejecting all forms of oppression against innocent civilians.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, MOHE also conveyed its appreciation to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for his concern, diplomatic wisdom, and his effective international network in ensuring the safe release and return of all Malaysian volunteers who participated in the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) mission to Gaza. "This effort reflects his globally respected leadership and Malaysia's commitment to peace missions," MOHE said in its statement today.
The statement also mentioned that the ministry fully supports the continued efforts of Malaysians who were with the Freedom Flotilla Coalition (FFC) on the humanitarian mission to Gaza. "Our sincere prayers and hopes are offered so that their every step will be protected from threats," the statement added.
Additionally, the ministry expressed pride in the involvement of Prof Dr. Mohd Afandi Salleh from Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA), who is among the Malaysian representatives in the FFC mission. "His participation reflects the high spirit of solidarity among the country's higher education community, including lecturers, students, and the entire IPT (institutions of higher learning) community in support of universal humanitarian causes," it said.
As an institution committed to human development and knowledge, MOHE emphasized its dedication to nurturing values of compassion, empathy, and global responsibility among campus communities. "May the courage and sincerity shown through this mission inspire all Malaysians to unite in support of the struggle of the Palestinian people," concluded the MOHE statement.
