Kuala lumpur: The Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) will continue engaging with various clusters and stakeholders to ensure their views are taken into account in the comprehensive drafting of the new national higher education act and legislative framework. Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir emphasized the importance of public university legal advisers' input and expertise in shaping an act that is legally robust, practical, and capable of meeting the actual needs of the higher education ecosystem.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the drafting process will be conducted openly, inclusively, and comprehensively. Dr Zambry highlighted that every view will be scrutinized to develop a framework that strengthens autonomy, accountability, governance, and responsible freedom within higher education institutions. This commitment was shared in a Facebook post after a courtesy call from public university legal advisers with extensive experience in legal, governance, and operational aspects.

During the meeting, the ministry received various views, feedback, and suggestions, focusing on ensuring an orderly transition that does not disrupt the continuity of university administration and operations. Dr Zambry expressed gratitude for the willingness of stakeholders to share their views and expertise, assuring that all input will be considered in shaping the future of the country's higher education landscape.
